It is not uncommon for people struggling with grief to experience being stuck in the depression stage. In the depression stage of grieving, there is no more denial, anger or bargaining. The person has come to fully realize the severity of the traumatic experience, however some people remain stuck in this stage because they have come to believe that there is no hope for moving forward and thriving after the experience.

Through therapy for depression with Road 2 Resolutions, you will learn to identify your feelings and recognize you feelings as feedback to your brain to help you interpret what you are experiencing in your environment.

You will also develop a healthy sense of meaning and purpose in your life based on your identified rational and healthy beliefs and values.

Here are 8 strategies cognitive strategies for coping with and overcoming depression, you will learn through depression treatment with Road 2 Resolutions.

1. You will learn to start where you already are in your life.

Some people seem to think that in order for them to feel better about themselves, that they need a major overhaul in their lives. Whether it is deciding to pick up and move to another location or change careers. If you want to move or change careers, you certainly can. However you can begin to change how you feel about yourself for the better without a major overhaul.

2.You will learn to identify the triggers for your depression and learn to respond with healthier habits to these triggers.

You will learn to identify beliefs you hold which worsen your depression under certain circumstances. Changing these unhealthy beliefs will lead to a more stable mood under these identified circumstances.

3. You will learn to put an end to unhealthy and prolonged isolation.

4.You will learn the art and science of balanced living.

5.You will learn and practice preventative coping strategies to prevent yourself from spiraling downwards into destructive behaviors. (Such as inflicting self injury or attempting suicide.) Please understand that if you have come to believe that you may attempt suicide, please call 911 or your local emergency number immediately. Also please call 911 or your local emergency number if you know someone who you have come to believe is seriously considering harming his or herself.

6. You will learn to think outside the box which will expand your perspectives on life and give you new options for problem-solving.

7. You will learn and practice flexibility. You learn to become more  tolerant of others with whom you disagree with and more accepting when things don’t go your way.

8. You will learn to rediscover the joys of living, even in the simplest of things.
