Hello and welcome to my blog. My name is Ugo, I am a psychotherapist and own and run my private practice in Tucson Arizona. I have started “This Therapist’s Blog” for two reasons, the first is that I enjoy writing (or typing) and the second is that I have strong opinions stemming from my decade plus experience in the mental health profession, which I love to share.
At some point in life all people go through a mental health crisis. The best way I can describe a mental health crisis is when a person experiences a fundamental change in his or her life that he or she was not emotionally prepared for. For such a change to impact you, it has to change significant aspects of your life forever. Examples range from loss of income, divorce, death of a loved one to recovering from a brain injury and everything in between.
I intend for this blog to serve you as an informal resource for all things related to mental health. By informal, I mean information you can relate to, understand and use to begin seeking solutions. As a therapist, I have been fortunate to work with people from all ethnic groups and works of life, and as a result I have had the benefit of witnessing and hearing about reoccurring patterns in human suffering, with the experience of recommending effective evidence based strategies to help bring these sufferings to an end.
If you like this blog, I recommend you sign up to receive my weekly newsletter in your inbox, ( I promise never to sell or give away your name or email address.) Also if you come across any posts you really like, please feel free to share with anyone you believe would benefit from the information.
Thanks for reading,
